Avery's 1st taste of something... other than milk!

Avery is just over 5 months old and has had nothing other than milk her whole life... until today!
We mixed up some single grain rice cereal with a bit of milk, CiCi loaded up the spoon and Avery opened up her mouth - just like a little bird!  Ali really wanted to help CiCi give Avery her first bites...
This was special because CiCi gave Ali her first bites too ;)
I thought it was cute that every time Ali told Avery to open her mouth, she would open hers ;)
With each bite, Avery is figuring out more and more how this works.  At 5 1/2 months old (1/7/11) Avery ate a whole big bowl of rice cereal and she had her first banana baby food.

Dru's Engaged!

Christmas Eve Dru asked Kristin to marry him...
She said YES!
They recreated their first date which included a dinner in downtown Melbourne and a walk on the beach...
Nothing could be more perfect, except knowing they will be together forever!
Dru picked a perfect time to pop the question -
all of Kristin's family was in town for Christmas and our whole family was here too!
Kristin is one of my best friends here in Melbourne, Florida and
i'm so excited for her to be part of our family now!
Just after the holidays, Dru had a flight planned with the family to take them out to Jackson Hole, Wyoming.  So he coordinated for Kristin to fly out and meet him for a little skiing and to celebrate their engagement!  It looks like they had a great little adventure!!!
I love this picture of Dru - I'm so proud of him!

We are so excited for the two of you to have each other - cherish this time!
Now for the wedding planning!

Christmas with the Myers Family

We were very excited to get to NC and visit with the Myers family.
Saturday Eddie's Uncle Bill & Aunt Judiann drove up from Seneca, SC picked up Aunt Debbie and Granddad in Charlotte then came up to Greensboro.
Granddaddy was doing great and really enjoyed seeing Ali and meeting Avery for the first time.
Aunt Debbie got lots of laughs from Avery!
Pat and Ron had a nice feast for us all...  The kids had their very own table!
Then it was time for a few pictures
... and presents!

Avery 5 month milestones

Our precious little Avery...
She's sitting up well on her own (12/13/11)
She smiles, laughs, giggles at her big sister...
Avery said "DaDa" while we were all sitting around the dinner table! (12/19/11)
She is getting a little better about sleeping through the night, but has not made that a priority most nights... I like to think she just misses her Mommy so much she wants me to come love and snuggle her ;)
CiCi snuggle time
You are your Daddy's little "mini me"...

Avery, we're so proud of you!  Love you!

Avery's Baptism

This morning, Avery was baptized at Covenant Presbyterian Church.
She is 4 1/2 months old and such a blessing to our famliy.

Infant Baptism Vows

1.  We acknowledge our child's need for the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ, and the renewing grace of the Holy Spirit.

2.  We claim God’s covenant promises in their behalf, and do you look in faith to the Lord Jesus Christ for their salvation, as you do for your own.

3.  We promise to rely on God’s grace to live the kind of Christian life that they can imitate.

4.  We will pray with and for them and teach them the Bible, so that they will love God and others.

5.  We will strive, by every means necessary, according to the grace of God, to raise them in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

We had lots of friends at church with us today to share in this special time.  Chris, April, and her sister Heather brought the girls over after church for lunch and play time. We had a very nice day together.

funny story: Ali kept asking if they washed Avery's hair because they sprinkled her with water ;)
