Happy 4th of July from NC!

We had a wonderful Independence Day out on Lake Tillery with my family!

Saturday was spent getting the boat ready for it's first outing of the season.
Wash and wax the boat, clean and oil the teak platform, change the oil, transmission fluid, vacuum out the boat, load up the rope, skis and life jackets, make sure we've got the registration, and we're almost ready to go to the lake!

Ali's all tuckered out from helping get the boat ready.

Father's Day in Beaufort, SC

Eddie had a follow up appointment at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville on Friday. We were very excited to have a great report from Dr. Jaeckle indicating that Eddie's MRI scans look perfect!

We had planned ahead of time to go from Jacksonville, to Beaufort to spend the weekend w/ Uncle Dru! We had a wonderful time and appreciate all his efforts and planning to ensure we didn't miss 0ut on any of the fun.

When we got there Friday afternoon, he had the boat ready for us to take out for some skiing and then into downtown Beaufort for dinner.

Before the Swim...

Beaufort 3.4 mile swim

The 4th Annual Beaufort River Swim, was a benefit for the Learn-to-Swim programs of the YMCA of Beaufort County! Our course is the unique estuary called the Beaufort River, starting at the Port Royal Landing Marina, winding around the curve, and finishing at the day dock, adjacent to the Beaufort Waterfront Park and the spectators watching the finish line. The course is approximately 3.4 miles.

The first swimmer crossed the finish line in just over 1 hour, and Dru and I came in about 15-20 minutes later. We accomplished our goal of "beating the bucket" time of aprox 2 hrs.

Ali loves the Water!

We started a parent/tot swim group on Monday and Wednesday evenings at BCC's Palm Bay Aquatic Center. This is just a fun time to play in the water with some friends and to learn some fun songs to sing while in the water.
