We were talking about going to Chase Hill's 2nd birthday party... she said "Mommy, It's not MY birthday anymore, I'm already 3 (and held up 3 fingers). I remember Chase, he's a boy... like Tyson's a boy!
I had made a PBJ sandwich for Ali, and after she took one bite, she looked at me and asked me, "Mommy, are those peanuts in my mouth?" She continued on to say, "Remember last time when we went to 5 Guys, we ate peanuts! I like peanuts!"

Baby Blue Eyes gets her 1st teeth!!!

Celebrating the Life of One Very Special Man...
After 89 years here with us, our very special Grandaddy is in heaven. He will surely be missed here, but we know he is in a better place... one with so many of those he longed for and missed dearly, he is walking, dancing, playing golf, singing in the angel's choir, and watching all of us from above.
There is a new shining star in the beautiful night sky --
Since I was not fortunate enough to meet either of my grandfathers, I feel that God put him in my life to represent the amazing love that a grandfather has for their granddaughter. So to me -- he was really MY Grandaddy too! (thanks Amie, Carrie & Eddie for sharing so generously)
When I think back about meeting Eddie's Granddad nearly 11 years ago, I have so many wonderful memories! He always made me feel just like one of his own grandchildren from the first time I met him. I remember seeing a picture of Eddie with his Dad and Granddad at his graduation - no doubt those good looking' genes were passed down generation to generation! There were lots of great stories about Grandaddy singing in the church choir, helping with the shriners, or walking miles a day well into his 80's. I got to see some more memorable events myself like Grandaddy parasailing with Ron at Holden Beach, telling us great stories and super funny jokes (Archibald Barisol), taking long walks and dancing with Debbie at our wedding -- he loved to smile and to see us all smile.
We are so grateful that we got to spend Christmas with Grandaddy-- We had a wonderful Christmas together! The whole family was together and he was very excited and happy to see everyone, especially his newest grandchildren -- Avery (6mo) and William (2mo)! He held them tight, smiled that big proud smile, and told them he loved them. What a wonderful opportunity to make it his last.

As we sat around the table for Christmas dinner, he said a beautiful blessing thanking his Lord and Savior for all that we had been given.

This is a poem written by Carrie:
My very special Grandaddy that we all are going to miss so,so,so very much. His heart was an ocean of love and hands so soft and sweet to hold. Eyes as blue as the sky above and smile so tender,soft and sweet. How lucky are we all to have shared in his life. Memories and pictures is how I will get by. Everyday I think of him and his shinning beautiful light. As rooms light up in his presence and people full of delight. This special man so rare and pure will always be apart of me for so grateful am I. I will look up to the heavens and see him in my sight and dream of holing him tight. For now and forever he will be a beautiful enchanting star that glistens and gleams all through the night.

Mr. Myers, 89, of Plantation Estates in Matthews, died March 10, 2012. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Jean Webster Myers, who went to be with Jesus, December, 1997.
Herb was born September 12, 1922 in Richmond, VA, the only child of the late Herbert William Myers and Gladys Cook Myers. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all who knew him. He is now celebrating in heaven with Jesus and his beloved wife, Jean.
Herb is survived by his three children; son, Ron Myers and wife Pat of Greensboro; son, Bill Myers and wife Judiann of Seneca, SC; and daughter, Debbie Myers of Waxhaw. He is also survived by his three grandchildren; Amie Jones and her husband Lyell of Rochester, MN; Carrie Woody and her husband Jay of High Point; and Eddie Myers and his wife Rye of West Melbourne, FL; and eight great-grandchildren; Katherine, Nathaniel and Charlotte Jones of Rochester, MN; Adrienne, Cameron and William Woody of High Point; and Ali and Avery Myers of West Melbourne, FL.

He was a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner with Oasis Shrine Temple in Charlotte. He served as Captain of the Chanters and Social Director for many Potentates over the years. Herb was a long-standing member and choir member of Providence Baptist Church in Charlotte. He worked in sales for the steel industry for the majority of his life.
Mr. Myers' family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to everyone from Providence Baptist Church who knew and loved our father and spent time with him in his final years while he was under nursing care at Plantation Estates. We also want to thank everyone involved in Herb's love and care at Plantation Estates and Hospice to know how much we appreciate them and the deserving job they do for our elderly.

God is so good...
... so strong and so mighty, there's nothing He can not do!
Today I was reminded of this. I try to live life to its fullest and make the most of every day, but I still find myself taking lots of little things for granted. Each day is a gift from above. We should be forever greatful.
Daddy,
All my life I have admired you, and I am so proud of you today. You always knew a little bit about everything. You started teaching us at a young age the right way to live. You helped us find who we really were. You challenged us and equipped us with the skills necessary to thrive as kids and as adults. You set a standard that was nearly impossible for anyone to come close to (just ask Eddie). The standard of how a father should love their children, teach them, encourage them. The expectation that no matter what is broken, you can make a tool and fix it! The concept that if you get a cut on your finger and it's still attached, grab a paper towel & some tape and keep going. A standard that nothing is impossible, some problems are just more difficult to solve than others. The toughness of nails, yet the sensitivity of a puppy.
I never once second guessed your love for me -- I know i'm the luckiest girl in the world to have you as my Daddy. You've always been there for me. We've shared lots of great times and made priceless memories that i'll cherish forever. (taking care of little animals and crying when we had to let them go, building and working on stuff, learning how to drive the three-wheeler or dirt bike by myself, the trivia as you drove me to dance class, science projects, flying airplanes, water skiing and grilling out at the river, working together out in the yard, math homework that you always got right - just didn't teach me the way the teacher did, holiday celebrations, daddy/daughter dance, misc projects around our house in Florida, being here for the births of Ali & Avery, and the list goes on...) I'm so glad that you get to be such a special part of our girls lives now. Just step back and enjoy watching them grow up through the filter of all that you have instilled in me.
Thank you for always being here for me, I love you so much and I will always be your little girl, no matter how old i get. I feel like I don't say it enough, but Thank You for all you have done and continue to do for me - You and Mama have sacrificed selflessly to ensure that we have the very best. All that I am and ever will be I owe to the two of you!
We know that you are a strong person. We want more than anything for you and Mama to trust in God and have a sense of peace while you get your heart fixed. We know that you are used to being able to fix anything you want to on your own. But now, you have to put your faith in God that He will give you and the Dr's the strength and knowledge to make you feel great again. Today you took a big step in the right direction, yet we still have some paths to pave. We want God to continue to work on your heart in more ways than one... We all love you and are praying for you!
