God is so good...

... so strong and so mighty, there's nothing He can not do!

Today I was reminded of this. I try to live life to its fullest and make the most of every day, but I still find myself taking lots of little things for granted.  Each day is a gift from above.  We should be forever greatful.

Daddy,
All my life I have admired you, and I am so proud of you today.  You always knew a little bit about everything.  You started teaching us at a young age the right way to live.  You helped us find who we really were.  You challenged us and equipped us with the skills necessary to thrive as kids and as adults.  You set a standard that was nearly impossible for anyone to come close to (just ask Eddie).  The standard of how a father should love their children, teach them, encourage them.  The expectation that no matter what is broken, you can make a tool and fix it!  The concept that if you get a cut on your finger and it's still attached, grab a paper towel & some tape and keep going.  A standard that nothing is impossible, some problems are just more difficult to solve than others. The toughness of nails, yet the sensitivity of a puppy.

I never once second guessed your love for me -- I know i'm the luckiest girl in the world to have you as my Daddy.  You've always been there for me.  We've shared lots of great times and made priceless memories that i'll cherish forever. (taking care of little animals and crying when we had to let them go, building and working on stuff, learning how to drive the three-wheeler or dirt bike by myself, the trivia as you drove me to dance class, science projects, flying airplanes, water skiing and grilling out at the river, working together out in the yard, math homework that you always got right - just didn't teach me the way the teacher did, holiday celebrations, daddy/daughter dance, misc projects around our house in Florida, being here for the births of Ali & Avery, and the list goes on...)  I'm so glad that you get to be such a special part of our girls lives now.  Just step back and enjoy watching them grow up through the filter of all that you have instilled in me.

Thank you for always being here for me, I love you so much and I will always be your little girl, no matter how old i get.  I feel like I don't say it enough, but Thank You for all you have done and continue to do for me - You and Mama have sacrificed selflessly to ensure that we have the very best.  All that I am and ever will be I owe to the two of you!

We know that you are a strong person. We want more than anything for you and Mama to trust in God and have a sense of peace while you get your heart fixed.  We know that you are used to being able to fix anything you want to on your own.  But now, you have to put your faith in God that He will give you and the Dr's the strength and knowledge to make you feel great again.  Today you took a big step in the right direction, yet we still have some paths to pave.  We want God to continue to work on your heart in more ways than one... We all love you and are praying for you!

3...2...1...Florida in February...

Today was a beautiful warm sunny day in Florida.
Ali & Avery had lots of fun playing in the sand together --

Avery loves the water and the sand at the beach... she's just a happy girl ;)
Ali is so much fun to watch - she is picking up so quickly on so many things!

Ali loves walking and talking w/ Daddy...
... and catching up with Mommy to check on Avery

We were at the beach and stayed just long enough to catch the watched MUOS rocket launch...
(close up picts from Nasa's site)
3...2...1...LIFTOFF!
Atlas 5 Launches MUOS-1 into space carrying the U.S. Navy's MUOS-1 communications satellite on Feb. 24, 2012. Liftoff occured at 5:15 p.m. ET (2215 GMT) from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

The view from our vantage point...
Such great memories together as a family!

A special day for your one true love!

What a special day -
Before I left for work, Eddie gave me a sweet note...
that was more than enough and made my day,
and later that day when I got back to my office these were on my desk!
He got me beautiful tulips!  :)
And this was my special Valentine's Day gift to Eddie -
He loves his dark chocolate!
We are so blessed to have each other to journey through life with - God is so good!

Eddie's 2nd trip around the world...

After our nice day together at Sea World, we had dinner together then dropped Eddie off at the airport.  He has a business trip that is taking him literally around the world.  He flies to Newark, NJ then direct to Singapore (18hr non-stop flight)!  This is Eddie's 2nd trip to Singapore; his last trip was in early March of 2011.  They are 13 hrs different from us and in a different hemisphere!  6AM here, 7PM there!

We made this for Daddy to see when he got home...

Avery 6 months old today!

Today I took Avery for her 6 month well-baby visit.  The pediatrician that we have seen since Ali was born has left the practice, so we are looking for someone else that will give us the attention and care that she did.  Anyway, Avery was just perfect!  She resembles her Daddy, look at those stats!

At 6 months, she weighs 15 lbs 2 oz (29%), and is 26.5 inches tall (74%)
(Avery is 1 inch taller than Ali was at the same age)

Avery gives us lots of smiles and loves laughing out loud at Ali!
She already figured out the sit-n-spin...
and is a pro with the camera (like her mama)...
She wore herself out...

Going to Ms. Shelia's...
The other day I asked Ali to bring me a diaper so I could change Avery.
She told me she wanted to help change Avery's diaper (not uncommon), so I went to get a diaper and when I came back this is what I found... a naked little baby sister!  And a mischievous grin on Ali's face. She is quite the "big helper".
Sisters Splishin' & Splashin'...
Clean baby Avery!

Avery on her knees rocking back and forth.... crawling mostly backwards!
She enjoys sitting up outside and enjoying the warm Florida sun...
and exploring and learning about all of God's creations.

Ali's such a good "Big Sister"!

Avery (6mo) & Kiera Peterson (3mo) BFF's...
Both the girls love being outside and going on bike rides!

Avery is not sleeping through the night consistently, but is a very happy baby.
At 6 months, she is doing a great job:
sitting up
rolling over both ways --
making lots of sounds
babbling a lot, saying DaDa --
eating rice cereal and baby food --
... and CRAWLING!

1st trip to Sea World!

Today Eddie is leaving for Singapore...
We decided to go to Sea World first then drop him off at the Orlando airport!
Ali was excited to take Avery with her on our "big adventure"!
Ali was so cute... she said "Mommy, I want to go see Shampoo!"
We watched 3 great shows -
the otter and sea lion show... really funny
the whale and dolphin show... awesome - lots of excitement
and the "shampoo" show...
This was a great experience for Eddie just before he left - he really enjoyed the extra attention from Ali and Avery!  They were so excited and wanted to sit in Daddy's lap to watch the shows ;)
 Mommy & the girls...
 SMILE ;)
... and one family shot with "Shampoo"!
We had a great day together at Sea World, then enjoyed a date with Daddy at Outback before we took him to the airport to get on a "BIG airplane" to go "far far away" to Singapore.

Ali was so cute just after we dropped Eddie off, she said to me...
Ali: "Where is daddy going?"
Rye: "He's going to Singapore"
Ali: "To get a shirt for Avery? and another one for me???"
She remembers her Singapore giraffe shirt that Eddie brought her back from Singapore the last time he went in March 2010...
